Manager’s Café Diary A Warm Break at “My Chai” in Kamezawa
Share
If you visit our MERI flagship store in Kamezawa, Sumida, there’s a nice little place just a short walk away that I often stop by: My Chai.
It's not only close to MERI, but also just a stone's throw away from the Edo-Tokyo Museum, which is set to reopen after renovation at the end of March 2026.

There aren’t many cafés in this neighborhood, so it’s a convenient spot when you want to take a quick break.
The staff are friendly, and the interior has a warm, relaxed atmosphere—easy to enter even between errands or after visiting MERI.

I usually order their authentic spiced chai and a croissant waffle.
The chai has a rich blend of spices that warms your body from within, and the croissant waffle is crispy on the outside and soft inside—perfect after a walk around the area.

Since the Croissant Waffle takes a little time to prepare, it is served freshly made after your drink. It has the perfect touch of sweetness—crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. It pairs beautifully with their Chai.
When you're feeling tired, this combination is incredibly comforting, letting you forget about time and just zone out for a while.
It’s the perfect treat during a walk or on your way back from MERI. When you visit us at MERI, please stop by on your way home to try their Chai and Croissant Waffle.
