Experience Traditional Japanese Nunozori MERI in Ginza, Tokyo
From June 26 (Fri) to July 9 (Thu), MERI will hold a special pop-up store on the 1st floor of the world-famous Ginza Itoya .

For many travelers visiting Japan, Itoya is not simply a stationery store — it is the stationery destination.
Founded in 1904 in Ginza, Itoya has become internationally known as one of Japan’s most iconic specialty stores for fine stationery, fountain pens, Japanese paper, art supplies, notebooks, leather goods, and creative tools.
If you love beautiful stationery, design, journaling, fountain pens, or Japanese craftsmanship, Itoya is probably already on your Tokyo travel list.
The famous flagship store, marked by its giant red paper clip, stretches across multiple floors filled with carefully curated items — from everyday notebooks and greeting cards to exquisite lacquer fountain pens and traditional Japanese paper.

Itoya is also well known outside Japan through its American business “Topdrawer,” with stores in cities such as New York, San Francisco, Boston, Los Angeles, and Chicago, introducing Japanese stationery culture and design to creative communities in the United States.
Many stationery lovers describe visiting Itoya Ginza as a “must-do” Tokyo experience, and travelers from around the world visit specifically to explore its legendary selection of Japanese stationery and fountain pens.
MERI products have already been available at Itoya Haneda Airport Terminal 3 Store and Itoya Narita Airport Terminal 2 Store, so some travelers may already know us from their journey through Japan.
For this special Ginza pop-up, we’ve been given a larger space where we will recreate the atmosphere of our MERI shop in Ryogoku, Tokyo.
You’ll discover our handmade Japanese cloth zori sandals “MERI,” tabi socks, knitwear, and our embroidered accessory brand “Button Hook.”
Ginza is one of Tokyo’s most famous shopping districts, and Itoya is one of the places that defines the area’s creative culture.
We hope you’ll stop by during your visit to Tokyo.
At the pop-up, you’ll also be able to try on MERI sandals in person.
Experience the soft, cushioned comfort and unique craftsmanship of handmade Japanese cloth zori — something you truly understand only after wearing them yourself.
On July 4 and 5, we will also host special Japanese cloth zori workshops at Ginza Itoya Main Store, with sessions available both in the morning and afternoon.
During the event, we will also be offering our popular Japanese Zori-Making Workshop.
Create your own pair of traditional Japanese fabric zori and take them home with you.
